of the Alfa Mutual group of companies (Alfa Mutual Insurance, Alfa Mutual
Fire Insurance, and Alfa Mutual General Insurance) Alfa Corporation provides
personal property/casualty insurance in a dozen central and southeastern states.
It also offers life insurance policies in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.
The company enjoys a pooling arrangement between all of the Alfa companies. President
and chairman Jerry Newby is also president of the Alabama Farmers Federation,
which founded the company in 1946.
